terson the way they would

Dottie Pepper is returning to golf broadcasting, signing a deal with ESPN that she calls a perfect fit of TV work and promoting junior golf. David Harris Jersey . Pepper retired from NBC Sports in December after eight years because she was weary of the travel and wanted to devote her time to getting more juniors involved in golf. She joined the PGA of America as one of its board members. "Its the dream fit," Pepper told The Associated Press. "I love what I do, and now I can do enough of it and still have a life. Its just the major championships, and next year Ill work eight events. Its fabulous." Pepper will start work next month at Merion for the U.S. Open, and she has already been to the golf course. ESPN televises the weekday rounds of the U.S. Open, the U.S. Womens Open and the U.S. Senior Open. ESPN has full coverage of the British Open, Senior British Open and Womens British Open. She already had planned to be at the Womens British Open because its the final qualifying event for the Solheim Cup. Pepper is an assistant captain. Next year, she will be part of the ESPNs weekday coverage of the Masters and Friday coverage of the Ryder Cup. Pepper, a 17-time winner on the LPGA with two majors, will work on the course and in the booth during live play for ESPN. She also will be an analyst during the networks golf coverage on SportsCenter and write occasionally for the website. She was a contributing columnist for Sports Illustrated when she worked for NBC. "Were very pleased to have the opportunity for Dottie to join our team," said Mike McQuade, vice-president of production for ESPN. "Her knowledge, experience and professionalism will bring another layer of strength to our golf coverage." Pepper said there was mutual interest when ESPN called, but it came with a caveat. She wanted to make sure that joining ESPN would not affect Judy Rankin, the longtime ABC Sports and ESPN golf analyst whom Pepper considers a close friend and mentor. It was Rankin who in 1999 suggested that Pepper be hired to work the U.S. Womens Amateur. "I wanted to make it very clear to them that I was in no way wanting to displace Judy Rankin, who has been incredibly important to me as a player and a mentor," Pepper said. "They said there was no question wed be working together. Shes a legend." Pepper said she missed working television during the Match Play Championship, the Florida Swing and The Players Championship, along with the relationships she formed at NBC Sports. "Im so competitive," she said. "That was my release." She was headed to Long Island on Wednesday to play National Golf Links and to walk the course at Sebonack, which will host the U.S. Womens Open the last week in June. Pepper said she will be arriving later than usual for that one because she has a PGA board meeting in Oregon that week. "Im really excited to get back," she said. Ryan Allen Jersey . Sgt. Eric ONeal says most of the arrests at Monday nights game were for public drunkenness, though one person was taken into custody on suspicion of trying to steal a seat from the stadium. Marcus Cannon Jersey . All of the scoring came in the final 20:04. Lucic scored on a power play at 15:46 of the third period, when he tipped a shot over Stars goalie Kari Lehtonen for a 3-1 lead. http:///...-fleming-jersey.html . The 15th-ranked Canadian men lost the opening two games of their European tour: 19-15 to No. 17 Georgia and 21-20 to No. EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. -- Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater resumed throwing in practice Tuesday, for the first time since he missed last Thursdays game against the Seattle Seahawks.?And while coach Mike Zimmer would not confirm ESPNs report that Bridgewater missed the game with a sore shoulder, he did say he will lean toward playing it safe with injured players, especially in the preseason. If he had an issue with his shoulder, Im going to make sure Im going to err on the side of caution, Zimmer said. If I played him and he got hurt, you guys would be killing me in the press. Im always going to protect the players, Im going to do what I think is best for the organization, and youre going to have to respect that.A lot of times, its up to the trainers and the doctors. Im never going to put a player out on the field that cant protect himself, or is not healthy. A lot of times theyll say, Hey, yeah, I can go. But I tell them, If you go out there and you get hurt in two plays, like what happened a couple times last year, its hurting the team. If you can go and play the game, you can play. But if the doctors tell me they cant do it, then theyre not going to do it.Two league sources told ESPN on Friday that Bridgewater could have played if it was the regular season, but the Vikings decided shortly before Thursdays game to sit him.Bridgewater stuck mostly to checkdowns and throws over the middle in Tuesdays practice, with a long throw of about 15 yards that was intercepted by Harrison Smith. As the Vikings eased Bridgewater back in, Zimmmer said its not imperative that the third-year quarterback plays again in the preseason, following two series of work in the teams exhibition opener Aug. Derek Rivers Jersey. . 12.Hes played an awful lot of games. Its not like hes a first-year rookie, Zimmer said. He played (12) the first year, and 17 last year, so hes played (29) games or something like that. Were going to continue to do what we think is best.Zimmer also said he has made a decision about whether running back Adrian Peterson will play in the preseason. He would not, however, discuss that choice publicly before the Vikings first game at U.S. Bank Stadium -- their new $1.1 billion home -- on Sunday. Its not necessary. Why is it necessary? Zimmer said. When a reporter suggested that revealing the information wouldnt cost the Vikings any competitive advantage in a preseason game, Zimmer said, Call (Chargers coach) Mike McCoy and ask him if theyre not going to care. Just ask him. Call him. Ask him if he cares. I would. I think its important. If they knew Adrian Peterson was playing in the backfield, I think theyd probably be having a lot of eight-man boxes and a lot of run blitzes and stacking the line of scrimmage. When it was then suggested to Zimmer that the Vikings would want defenses to play Peterson the way they would in the regular season, giving him a chance to get some work before the teams opener Sept. 11, Zimmer said, Well see in the game. Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '
